What do you do?
I am a professional comic artist, book illustrator, & fine artist with a dash of design work. Almost all my professional work is for licensed properties with Disney/Pixar/Muppets being the big one, with My Little Pony and occasionally Star Wars. I also used to be an assistant animator and inbetweener at Walt Disney Animation Australia.
I’ve drawn comics and comic covers for Monsters Inc, Muppets, Sesame Street, Strawberry Shortcake, Richie RIch, My Little Pony, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, Ducktales & Doctor Who.
My main gigs right now are drawing the My Little Pony comic for IDW with a bunch of other creators and producing Disney & Star Wars Fine Art with Acme Archives.
Unless specifically credited, everything I post here is fanart I do for my own entertainment or sketches done at conventions.
What do you use to make your art?
I mostly use Adobe Photoshop, although for convention pieces and private commissions I will use Copic Markers or watercolour.
Do you take requests?
I’m sorry, no. I do not have time to take Internet requests.
What about commissions? Can I get a commission from you?
I only take paid commissions very sporadically because I have a very full work slate with comic and fine art work. When I AM available to take commissions, I will announce it on my twitter feed (amymebberson) and here on Tumblr.
PLEASE NOTE that due to my ongoing Disney work with Acme and other divisions, I CANNOT take commissions for Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Muppets or any other properties owned by the Walt Disney Company.
Where can I buy your stuff online?
I do not sell any personal art or prints online. The only place my art is sold is my official Disney fine art which can be found at Acme Archives or Dark Ink Art
I love Pocket Princesses, you should make a book/prints/TV show!
Sorry, as much as I’d love to, the characters are owned by Disney and I cannot do anything that profits from them without Disney’s license and permissions. The only official Pocket Princess thing for sale as of writing is ‘Singalong’, produced by Acme under license and available here.
I have an idea for a Pocket Princess, what about…
Stop right there. See above regarding ‘No Requests’. I want to keep PP entirely my own work and ideas for intellectual property reasons.
Will *insert character here* be in Pocket princesses?
If they’re a Princess, maybe, when I decide they should be in it. If they’re not a princess, probably not.
I found this person reposting your work, what should I do?
Send me a note with the location of the person in question. Notes don’t allow URLs to be included to avoid spammers, but the site and a username is a good start. I take reposting of my personal work very seriously, even with credit, and will pursue it.
Can I use your art as my site banner/FB header?
On a blog site, I’d rather you didn’t. I don’t like my art being used to advertise another site. Facebook headers are fine, as long as the art goes into your Facebook header album and not a general photos album.
